velocicrafter: yoisthisracist: Yo, I can’t even deal with how many layers of wackness this question gets into, without even getting near any of the racism parts. seriously, it’s like “I wanna do this thing & a bunch of people tell me it’s racist but I think it’s not really racist because I don’t think it is, so I’m gonna ask you now so hopefully you can tell me what I wanna hear.”

I took a bath with bubbles and vitamin e oil and I feel so soft and smooth, even though I’m wearing clothes I feel naked, as if the fabric is floating somewhere above my skin I’m surrounded with this warmth.  I took some pictures in the setting sun. You’ll see them in a few.

NPR's Top 10 Reasons Why the BMI is Bogus
velocicrafter: masteradept: adamangasaurus: darkjez: yourhealthista: [Ed. Note: I think it’s okay to use BMI as a ballpark for a target healthy weight range, but it should never be the ONLY factor in determing a goal/healthy weight.] 1. The person who dreamed up the BMI said explicitly that it could not and should not be used to indicate the level of fatness in an individual. The BMI...

The White Factor
zorascreation: Yesterday I was out in Manhattan with my bestie and she told me about The White Factor.  It’s a term of expression used whenever you see or experience something intrinsically racist from a White person, or you see a White person doing something ridiculously ridiculous that falls in line with common stereotypes about Whites that White American pop culture has brought upon itself...

it makes sense that they would hang out, since they both teach at the same college.  But oh my Gawd if I did not have to be totally awkward about it! My internal dialogue was one of panic; I felt the need to instantly start whispering to everyone around me asking if they had a pen or pencil I could borrow, or paper, for my notes. What. A. girlinthecafe answered your question: Long personal post, but if you read it and give me advice that’d be super helpful Maybe you should try another doctor? It is odd that she would make assumptions about your health based only on appearance. I need to go back to the doctor to check out my problems i’ve been having for real. I need to get that blood work up done, because this could actually be serious… Or it could be a fluke.  Why don’t I want to go? Because on my first visit she told me I needed to exercise more and “in the future we’ll talk about loosing weight and getting healthy”. She completely...

– Mitt Romney, at Wednesday’s CNN debate in Arizona.  Hey, you know what prevents unwanted pregnancy? This. Love the insinuation that poverty IS child abuse. And the racism. That throwaway remark is quite possibly one of the worst things to come out of last night’s debate. I could say more, but...
